Participant Information, Policies & Safety Guidelines

Thank you for participating in A Hero's Family Fun Run & 5K Challenge, benefiting Behind the Line and supporting local first responder families. Please review the following information and policies before registering.

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
Location: New Ebenezer Retreat Center
Event Type: Community Run/Walk & 5K Challenge
Course: Outdoor trail/road course through the Magnolia Grove Festival grounds and surrounding wooded areas.

Check-In Opens: 8:00am at The Southern Heritage Market Entrance
Fun Run Start Time: 9:00am

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to complete check-in, receive their participant information, and prepare for the start of the event.

Participant Guidelines

• This is a family-friendly community run/walk and 5K race open to individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and community groups.

• Participants may walk, jog, or run the course at their own pace.

• All participants must follow event staff instructions and remain on designated course routes.

• Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete registration and/or provide consent.

• Participants are responsible for their own physical readiness and ability to complete the course.

Outdoor Course Advisory

Please be aware that this event takes place in a natural outdoor setting with wooded areas and uneven terrain.

Participants should plan accordingly:

• Wear comfortable, supportive shoes suitable for outdoor terrain.

• Bring sunscreen and apply as needed.

• Consider bringing water, bug protection, and weather-appropriate clothing.

• Be prepared for outdoor conditions including sun, heat, humidity, dirt paths, roots, and uneven surfaces.

• Participants with mobility concerns should consider the course conditions before registering.

Weather conditions may impact the course. Event organizers reserve the right to modify, delay, or cancel portions of the event for participant safety.

Prohibited Items & Safety Policies

For the safety and enjoyment of all participants:

No pets are permitted on the course or event grounds with the exception of registered service animals.

The following items are prohibited:

• Weapons of any kind

• Firearms

• Illegal substances

• Alcohol during the run/walk event

• Any item deemed unsafe or disruptive by event staff

Participants who do not follow safety guidelines may be removed from the event without refund.

Liability & Participation Waiver

By registering for A Hero's Family Fun Run, participants acknowledge that participation in an outdoor athletic event carries inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, uneven terrain, weather conditions, insects, wildlife, physical exertion, and personal injury.

Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and agree to release and hold harmless Magnolia Grove Festival, Behind the Line, New Ebenezer Retreat Center, event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and affiliated partners from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or expenses arising from participation in the event.

Participants confirm that they are physically capable of participating and understand they are responsible for consulting with a medical professional if they have any concerns regarding participation.

Photography & Media Release

By participating in A Hero's Family Fun Run, participants grant permission for event organizers, sponsors, and affiliated organizations to use photographs, videos, and other media captured during the event for promotional, educational, and community outreach purposes.

Registration Policies

• Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise stated by event organizers.

• Event details, schedules, and course information are subject to change.

• Participants registered by September 30 will receive the A Hero's Family Fun Run Signature Challenge Coin while supplies last.

By completing registration, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to all event policies, guidelines, and waiver requirements.
